About the role
The role of Team Leader Placemaking is to oversee the day-to-day work and functioning of a multi-skilled team to enable the successful planning and implementation of projects, placemaking, contract management and maintenance works for the section. This will be achieved through community engagement and partnerships and provision of best value services for the community and businesses.
This role will see you lead Council's Place Coordinators who manage the identified Town Centres across the Central Coast to ensure effective asset and contract management, leasing and licensing, marketing and promotion and business and economic development outcomes are achieved.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community and local businesses.
Key activities of this role include:
- Contribute to and develop appropriate work plans for a large team that meet identified community needs, contribute to economic prosperity and improved social outcomes for the community
- Build and maintain strong and productive working relationships with community stakeholders to facilitate innovative initiatives, partnerships and programs based on identified needs of the community
- Co-ordinate, monitor and prioritise teams workloads so that all work is delivered in an effective and efficient manner within agreed timeframes and budgets
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management or Project Management or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Extensive experience within a similar role, directly managing a medium to large multi-disciplinary team including experience in asset planning, project and contract management
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of placemaking and activation processes and practices
- Extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record in the successful completion of projects on time and within budget
- Proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus
- Well-developed performance improvement and consultation skills
- Demonstrated leadership behaviours, including active communication with the team in regard to performance, business strategy, diversity, coaching and mentoring and change management
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that are of benefit or add value, to all or part of the organisation
- Proven ability to assess, interpret and judge information or situations, and formulate recommendations, provide specialist advice or deliver a service, based on the findings.

Other important information
- The commencing salary for this position is up to $106k. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $123k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
- We have a permanent full-time role available
- This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
- We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role
- This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
